Jesse Ryan

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

Supervised by Claudia Thompson, LMFT-S, LPC-S

Jesse is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate passionate about helping couples strengthen their connection, improve communication, and build deeper understanding and empathy for each other. Each person she works with is unique and sees the world in their own way. Jesse understands that the couples she works with may not always see eye to eye. She believes that differences in a relationship aren’t weaknesses, they’re opportunities for understanding, empathy, and a privilege of connecting with another person. Jesse helps her clients learn how to show up for each other so their relationship grows and prospers.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but Jesse is committed to making the experience comfortable and empowering. Jesse is committed to creating a warm, compassionate environment where you can share your thoughts and feelings authentically without fear of judgement. She encourages couples to take an active role in their sessions, guiding them toward the goals and changes they want to see in their relationship. Whether you're navigating major life transitions, working through trust issues, exploring intimacy challenges, or coping with anxiety or depression, Jesse is here to support you.

Jesse specializes in supporting couples in multicultural relationships, helping partners navigate cultural differences with curiosity, respect, and compassion. She offers an affirming and inclusive space for people of all relationship styles and identities. This includes LGBTQ+ individuals, non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships, and the full spectrum of gender identities. Jesse is also kink and sex-positive. Her approach is always tailored to your unique experiences and needs.

Approach to Counseling

In therapy sessions, Jesse provides a compassionate space for you to freely explore what’s on your mind and what is bringing you to therapy. Jesse wants to get to know your world and the way that you see yourself and others. She uses a systems approach, recognizing that changes within yourself can create ripple effects in your relationships and environment. Jesse is also practicing narrative therapy, helping you separate challenges from your identity and empowering you to reshape your story in a way that aligns with your values and goals.

Jesse values building a genuine connection in the therapy room. She will empathize, relate, and work to truly understand what you have to say. Jesse wants your story to be heard, understood, and to partner with you to repair the hurts you have experienced.
