Supervised by Claudia Thompson, LMFT-S, LPC-S

Jen is passionate about helping others enhance connections in their lives and live more authentically. She offers support around pregnancy, miscarriage, postpartum issues, parenting, divorce, men’s issues, career goals, and intergenerational trauma. Her goal is to provide a climate of non-judgment and safety for her clients so that they feel cared for, can self-explore at a deep level, and can become aware of blocks to growth. Jen approaches therapy from an attachment and trauma lens. She is sex-positive, body-positive, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent affirming. She enjoys working with couples, families, individuals, and groups.

Jen leads two weekly therapy groups: a New Moms group and a Men’s Processing group. Both groups are designed to bring people together in community and to process difficult feelings in a safe space. For more information about groups, please follow this link: Groups at Enhancing Intimacy

Jen is passionate about the connection between mind, body, and emotions. She believes in Health at Every Size (HAES), intuitive eating, and mindful movement.

Jen believes that the conscientiousness and empathy that she brings to her clients enables them to feel seen, heard, and understood deeply.

Jen has completed her master’s in counseling at St. Edward’s University. She is an avid learner and remains open to learning new theories and methods for meeting her clients’ needs. Jen is passionate about her role as a mother, living authentically in the present moment, and cultivating joy.

Approach to Counseling

Jen uses Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques along with mindfulness techniques to help clients get in touch with and get comfortable expressing their authentic emotions. She approaches therapy from an attachment and relational lens, and offers a safe and nurturing space for clients to explore and share feelings. At times, Jen utilizes cognitive therapy techniques in addition to emotionally-focused and body-awareness techniques.

Jen understands that it can be difficult to open up to a new therapist and there is often anxiety present when beginning therapy. Jen is happy to work with you at whatever pace you are comfortable with, and will never pressure you to share more than you feel ready for. It is not necessary for you to divulge specific details of trauma for therapy to be helpful.

Jen is sex positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and works with both monogamous and non-monogamous relationships. Jen aims to hold a safe space for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent individuals.

Jen is interested in truly understanding her clients, and offering them a shame-free space to feel seen and understood.
